HOLIDAY SEASON

Thank you all for coming out during the Big Bad Bead Sale through all the road closures and fallen limbs. Many of you braved much to get to our store and we hope that we lived up to your expectations. Extra thanks to those of you expressing your concern for us and for sharing your stories with us--it was through many of you that we learned of the news as many on our staff lost power. Please note that we will be closed during Christmas Eve (Sat, 12/24) and Christmas Day (Sun, 12/25) as well as the following weekend, New Year's Eve (Sat, 12/31) and New Year's Day (Sun, 1/1/2012). We wish everyone a safe and wonderful holiday season!

WINTER BOUTIQUE - Friday, December 9 - Sunday, December 11

We missed you during our Winter Boutique during Thanksgiving Weekend. So we're doing it again, this weekend, Friday, December 9 to Sunday, December 11. HIGH WINDS

San Gabriel Bead Company has fared o.k. from last night's howling Santa Ana winds. We do have parts of trees on our roof and we hope to get that removed without our power being affected. We will be closed today at 4pm. We hope to resume normal operations on Friday from 12-6pm but if you have any questions or concerns, please call our store before arriving.

The ChainMaille Lady Trunk Show - Sat, November 5 & Sun., November 6

Lauren “The ChainMaille Lady” Andersen is the author of two chainmaille books: “Basics Of
Chain Maille” & “Advanced Chain Maille”. She has appeared on the TV show Beads, Baubles &
Jewels & Jewel School™ on JTV®. She is also a member of the Beadalon® Design Team.
Several of her designs have been published in Step By Step Wire Magazine. We can't wait to have her here on Saturday, November 5 and Sunday, November 6.

Kazuri Beads Trunk Show - Sat, October 8

The Kazuri Beads Trunk Show will be here on Saturday, October 8 from 10am-6pm. These lovely ceramic beads are handmade by the people in Kenya and helps support their livelihood. If they seem familiar, they have been recently featured in a well-known brand of jewelry. You can make your own lovely jewelry with these graphic, well-made precious beads.

SERENDIPITY SALVAGE - Fri, Sept 9 & Sat, Sept 10

Come visit Serendipity Salvage on their first show here at The San Gabriel Bead Company. Cute odds and ends, cameos, cabochons, and other beautiful salvaged pieces for your jewelry work as well as for the mixed media artist. They're be here on Friday, September 9 and Saturday, September 10.

SILK ROAD TREASURE TRUNK SHOW CANCELLED

Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, the Silk Road Treasures Trunk Show has been cancelled for this weekend, Sept 1-4. We're looking forward to a visit from Ahmad in 2012. Sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused. Please come visit us this weekend for the bead sale!!! And have a great labor day weekend!

BEAD SALE & TRUNK SHOW - Thurs, Sept 1-Sun, Sept 4

We're having a bead sale starting this Thursday, September 1! All beads will be on sale at 20% off. If you haven't been in the store this past month, we have been busily putting out our huge shipment of freshwater pearls and semi-precious gemstones. It's worth checking out. And don't forget to stop by the Silk Road Treasures Trunk show. As always, Ahmad will have lovely unique treasures from Afghanistan. The sale and the trunk show ends Sunday, September 4.

Semi-Precious Gemstones - Fri, Aug 26 & Sat, Aug 27

Theodore is back! He'll be here this Friday and Saturday with his semi-precious goodies, er, I mean, semi-precious gemstones. You'll find lots of lovely briolettes and freshwater pearls. And if you're in it for the cabochons, ask him nicely and he'll show you. (Don't forget to pick up your rules and glossy brochure for the Shop Hop while you're here.)

BEAD SHOP HOP -- two weekends in September

The Bead Shop Hop is coming up! "What is it?," you ask. It is an opportunity to visit local bead stores in Southern California. Held over specially designated weekends, you visit bead stores and get freebies and check out their stores and events and possibly do some shopping as well. Then you visit the next store. At each store, you have your passport and you get it stamped. The more stores you visit and the more stamps you collect, you may be entered into special raffles for prizes. Prizes are distributed according to stamps collected per region (there are 3 regions) or if you're super adventurous, for visiting all the participatiing bead stores in Southern California. Visit the San Gabriel Bead Company for this detailed information about the shop hop. You may want to plan your route ahead of time! The Bead Shop Hop is happening over two weekends in September, from Thursday-Sunday of September 8-11 and 15-18.

This is a trunk show that we don't have very often so you don't want to miss out: Saturday, July 9 and Sunday, July 10. Oh yeah, did I tell you that her artwork is one of a kind and each are unique so you don't want to miss out on that either. Jennifer makes beautiful polymer clay pendants, earrings, beads, that have been featured in Beadwork, Stringing, and she was also a featured seller on etsy.com. And most importantly, Jennifer is one of our own--she got her start here at San Gabriel Bead Company when we were at Clearman's Village in San Gabriel. Come visit her, stop by and say "hi!", and enjoy her goods!

We're having a vintage bead and button trunk show this weekend! Don't miss these German glass beauties. Visit us on Saturday, June 25 and Sunday, June 26 for the show. We also have some button samples on display right now for you to have ideas on what to do with buttons.

Silk Road Treasures Trunk Show - Thurs., Feb 17 to Sun., Feb 20

Silk Road Treasures will be bringing their beautiful lapis, Persian turquoise, and museum quality handmade items this weekend. This four day show staring on Thursday, February 17, takes two days to set up all their beautiful goods. Loads of unusual semi-precious stones, ancient Roman glass, fabric printing blocks, and other gorgeous goods from Afghanistan will be on display as well. Ends on Sunday, February 20.

Charlie's Creations Trunk Show - Sat., February 5

We'll be hosting another local artist this Saturday, February 5. Charlie Warner of Charlie's Creations will have a variety of her beautiful handmade lampwork glass beads.

Starting this Friday, January 28, we will be having a semi-precious trunk show! Theodore usually brings his briolettes of all kinds of semi-precious as well as other style of gems. He also has some freshwater pearls as well. The show runs through this weekend to Sunday, January 30.
